Job Description
A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Medical Malpractice Paralegal to join its team on a full-time, on-site basis. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience supporting attorneys in medical malpractice defense or plaintiff litigation and be comfortable managing cases from inception through trial.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with all phases of medical malpractice litigation.
- Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and discovery responses.
- Review, summarize, and organize medical records.
- Prepare medical chronologies and case summaries.
- Coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial schedules.
- Communicate with clients, medical providers, experts, courts, and opposing counsel.
- Manage deadlines and maintain case calendars.
- Prepare trial notebooks, exhibits, and witness files.
- Conduct legal and factual research as needed.
- Maintain both electronic and physical case files.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of medical malpractice paralegal experience.
- Paralegal certificate preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of Georgia civil litigation procedures.
- Experience reviewing and summarizing complex medical records.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting medical malpractice defense attorneys.
- Trial preparation and courtroom support experience.
- Experience working with medical experts and expert disclosures.
